Patriotic House and Yard Decorating Contest Rules & Registration​

Sponsored by the Pine Island Chamber of Commerce, Pine Island American Legion Family, and the Pine Island area Community Foundation


Contest Overview


This contest is for Pine Island residents or businesses who love to go all out for the red, white, and blue! To help us celebrate our country's 250th anniversary, we’re inviting you to decorate the outside of your home - porches, front yards, windows, and walkways - with patriotic flair. Think twinkling lights, bold flags, stars, and anything that proudly celebrates 250 years of American Spirit! 

Contest Guidelines


• Prizes will be awarded to the first ($200), second ($100), and third ($50) place winners.
• There is no entry fee to participate.
• Participants must be a Pine Island resident
• Displays must be on the exterior of the house and/or in the yard.
• Displays must be visible from the street and suitable for public viewing.
• Build display so it is safe, secure, and wind & weather resistant.
• Use of red, white & blue items such as lights, eagles, stars, flags, banners are welcomed.
• We reserve the right to reject a display being part of this contest should it be deemed offensive or controversial or political in any way. 
• Participants must comply with all applicable laws, ordinances, and safety regulations in connection with their decorations and displays.
• When submitting this registration form, the address you provide will be added to a Google Touring Map. (Map link will be made available at a later date.)
• Deadline to register June 28, 2026


Judging & Prizes


• A judging panel made up of Chamber of Commerce, American Legion fammily, as well as members of the Pine Island Area Community foundation will score entries.
• Homes will be judged on creativity, visual impact, originality, and patriotic spirit.
• Judging will take place after July 1st, 2026
• Home contest displays should remain through at least July 4, 2026, and if possible, through July 26 for our Classic Motor show.
Community Involvement
• Residents will be invited to tour the town and enjoy the displays. A map of participating homes will be shared so everyone can join in the fun!
